2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Strato GmbH, Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin, Germany. Each page request automatically generates server log files (IP address, browser type, timestamp, page visited). These data are not combined with other sources and are deleted after 14 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in technical provision of the website).

3. SSL Encryption

The connection to this website is encrypted via TLS/SSL (indicated by the lock icon and “https://”).

4. Contact Form & Event Submission

When you submit data via the contact form or the “Submit Event” form, it is stored on our server. Submitted events are only published after editorial review. You may request deletion of your data at any time by email. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent via checkbox).

When contacting us by email, we store your message for processing. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Cookies

This website uses only technically necessary cookies (e.g. session cookies in the admin area, language preference cookie by the translation plugin Polylang). No tracking or marketing cookies are set. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

6. No Tracking Services

We do not use Google Analytics, Matomo, Facebook Pixel, or any comparable tracking or analytics services. Fonts are hosted locally.

7. External Content and Services

Certain pages embed external content. Your IP address is transmitted to the respective third-party providers. This is technically necessary to deliver the content to your browser.

7.1 OpenStreetMap (Map)

The pages “Veranstaltungen” (Events), “Leipzig”, and individual event pages display an interactive map. Map tiles are loaded from servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF), St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom (tile.openstreetmap.org). Your IP address is transmitted to the OSMF.

7.2 unpkg.com (CDN for Map Library)

The JavaScript library “Leaflet” and the “MarkerCluster” plugin, used for the map display, are loaded via the content delivery network unpkg.com. The operator is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Your IP address is transmitted to the CDN operator.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in performant delivery of the map functionality).

7.3 Spotify (Embedded Playlist)

The “Learn Tango” page embeds a Spotify playlist. When loading this page, data is transmitted to Spotify AB, Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden. Spotify may set cookies and track your usage behavior. The embed loads only when you visit the respective page.

8. Newsletter

We offer a newsletter about tango events in Leipzig and the surrounding area. You can sign up via a form on our website.

Data Processed

When you subscribe, we store:

  • Your email address (required)
  • Your name (optional, if provided)
  • Timestamp of registration and confirmation (double opt-in)
  • IP address at the time of confirmation (proof of consent)

Double Opt-in

Registration uses a double opt-in process: after entering your email address, you will receive a confirmation email with a link. Only after clicking this link will you be added to the mailing list. This ensures that only the owner of the email address can subscribe.

Newsletter Software

For sending and managing the newsletter, we use Listmonk, an open-source newsletter application. Listmonk runs on our own server – no data is transmitted to external newsletter services. The data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on the same server.

Unsubscribing

Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time, after which your data will be deleted from the mailing list. Alternatively, you can request removal by emailing info@tango-in-leipzig.de.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

9. Plugins Used

The following WordPress plugins are active. Unless otherwise described in the sections above, all plugins run exclusively on our server and do not transmit data to third parties.

  • Contact Form 7 – contact form and event submission
  • The Events Calendar – event management
  • Yoast SEO – search engine optimization (meta tags, sitemap)
  • WP Super Cache – caching for faster page delivery
  • Advanced Custom Fields – custom admin fields
  • Polylang – multilingual support (German/English); sets a technically necessary language preference cookie
