Design, curation & editing

At the end of 2023 I moved from Hamburg to Leipzig and took up Tango Argentino at the same time. After the very first class it was clear: this was going to be something bigger.

My pattern: I want to get to the bottom of a subject and then make it easier for others to get in. From 2007 to 2009 as an organiser and instructor for parkour in Hamburg, from 2011 to 2021 as a full-time karate teacher. Now it is tango.

tango-in-leipzig.de and tango-germany.com are only the beginning ;-)

What is this?

“Tango in Leipzig” collects events, courses and contacts for Tango Argentino in Leipzig and the region – everything that is publicly listed on the organisers’ websites.

I curate what is on offer across Central Germany monthly, with the help of AI, so that there is finally a complete overview of the publicly announced events and courses. Every listing is checked against the information on the provider’s own website. Errors on my part, spontaneous changes, force majeure and AI mistakes reserved. :-)

If something is not listed anywhere online, you are welcome to send it to me directly – I will add it, provided the organiser agrees.

This site is a private passion project. It is and will stay free of paid advertising: no Google Ads, no Meta Ads, no pop-ups. Nothing featured here is ever bought. My own projects are marked “Our own event”.

Two portals, one event database. Since September 2026, tango-in-leipzig.de has been part of a two-portal network: the sister portal tango-germany.com covers Germany’s tango capitals (Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, Hannover, Potsdam), while this site remains the regional portal for Leipzig and Central Germany – one event database, one pair of hands, two editions. Events from Leipzig and Dresden appear in that calendar as well.

What can you find here?

Event calendar – all milongas, prácticas and workshops at a glance
Provider directory – dance schools, clubs and organisers across Central Germany
Beginner’s guide – everything you need to start dancing tango
Event submission – organisers can report their dates easily
